This high-precision, open-aperture XY linear stage was developed for applications that require long travel, precise positioning, stable scanning, and high throughput. The US-made stage is designed for demanding motion tasks in semiconductor inspection, photonics alignment, metrology, imaging, biotechnology, laser microprocessing, precision assembly, microscopy, and advanced automation.

The V-783 provides 310 mm × 310 mm travel in a compact monolithic XY design. Compared with a conventional stacked-stage arrangement, the integrated structure lowers the overall profile and uses a wider bearing geometry to improve stiffness and geometric performance. This helps reduce flex and supports better straightness, yaw, and positioning stability across the full travel range.

A brushless three-phase ironless linear motor drives the motion platform directly. Because force is applied without mechanical transmission elements such as screws, belts, or gears, the stage avoids backlash and drivetrain play. This makes the V-783 well suited for fast, repeatable motion in production systems that need both precision and dynamic performance.

The stage is available with incremental Sin/Cos encoder feedback or absolute BiSS-C encoder feedback. Both versions provide 1 nm sensor resolution. The absolute encoder version delivers position information immediately after power-up, eliminating the need for homing and improving startup efficiency and machine safety.

The V-783 is designed to work with PI’s A-81x and A-82x series ACS-based motion controllers. These EtherCAT® controllers support high-performance servo control, multi-axis synchronization, integration with third-party automation equipment, and advanced algorithms, such as PILOT for improved dynamic response with reduced motor current.

With its combination of direct-drive motion, nanometer-level encoder feedback, strong geometric accuracy, and open-aperture access, the V-783 micropositioning stage gives OEMs and system builders a robust positioning platform for high-precision production and inspection systems. It is particularly useful where long travel, highly dynamic and stable XY motion, high repeatability, and clean integration into automated equipment are required.
