Piezoelectric Tubes, Scanner Tubes

Large Variety of Sizes, Options

Piezo tubes and tubular piezo actuators come in a variety of sizes with diameters to 80mm, length to 70mm and inner diameter from 0.8 to 74mm, with different electrode options.

PZT Tubes with Quartered Electrodes for Multi-Axis Motion / Scanning
Piezoelectric tubes with quartered electrodes can be used for 2-dimensional scanning with ultra-high position resolution, such as required in atomic force microscopy.

Piezo Micro Tubes
Our micro PZT tubes are available with outer diameters as small as 0.45 mm and inner diameter of only 200 microns. These micro tubes find applications in scanning fiber endoscopes, micro droplet generation, ink-jet dispensers and in minimally invasive medical instruments.

High Quality Precision Piezo Manufacturing Process
Our high-precision manufacturing and quality control processes allow for production of piezoelectric elements that are very clean, with extremely tight tolerances and minimum batch-to-batch variations. With decades of experience in the design and manufacture of electro ceramics and piezo mechanic components, PI Ceramic piezo products have helped many customers in industrial and medical applications push the boundaries of technology.

What Are Piezo Tubes Used For
Piezo tube actuators provide fast, precise motion in a compact, lightweight form factor. They are widely used for nanopositioning, scanning, beam steering, fiber alignment, microscopy, and precision manipulation. Their ability to generate motion in multiple directions makes them particularly useful in scanning probe microscopy (SPM/AFM), where they provide XYZ positioning of samples or probes. Piezo tubes are also used in optical systems for mirror and lens positioning, and high-force tubular stacks, such as the PICA-thru-actuators can also be used for active vibration control, and laser beam alignment. Additional applications include microdispensing, medical instrumentation, photonics, and aerospace systems. Their high resolution, rapid response, and vacuum compatibility make them suitable for demanding precision positioning and scanning applications.
