PI adds Robot Operating System (ROS) Drivers to its Hexapod 6-Axis Robotic Positioners

December 2, 2020 – The Robot Operating System (ROS) by ROS.org is a flexible framework for robotics software development.  PI recently released ROS drivers for its compact H-811 hexapod family.

These miniature 6 DOF robotic positioning systems provide sub-micron precision for applications including Silicon Photonics array alignment, medical robotics, camera lens optimization, and microscopy.  The new drivers allow design engineers to seamlessly integrate the hexapods into a ROS environment. PI also includes an URDF model to add visualization to the simulation.
