New H-811 Hexapod Positioning System with Integrated Overload Protection

PI introduces the new H-811.I2HS hexapod positioning system featuring patented overload protection technology. Designed to help protect the precision mechanics of the hexapod during installation, system integration, and operation, the new safety feature reduces the risk of damage from accidental forces, collisions, and improper handling.
The overload protection system is especially beneficial maintaining the very high positioning accuracy the hexapod delivers when used in production environments and / or when handled by a variety of personal without proper training. By safeguarding sensitive mechanical components, the protection helps ensure consistent performance in demanding research and industrial environments.
Flexible 6-Axis Motion for Precision Alignment
The H-811.I2HS hexapod positioning system can be mounted in any orientation, providing exceptional flexibility for machine builders and system integrators. Its parallel-kinematic design delivers synchronized motion in six degrees of freedom, including X, Y, Z, pitch, yaw, and roll, while maintaining a compact footprint.
A user-programmable pivot point enables precise alignment around any selectable point in space, simplifying complex positioning and alignment tasks. The system is ideally suited for photonics, optics, microscopy, metrology, semiconductor, and advanced automation applications.
The H-811 is supplied with powerful alignment and simulation software that streamlines setup and operation. Optional accessories include an optical power meter and a 6-axis manual controller, both of which connect directly to the C-877 hexapod motion controller.
Compact Design with 11lb Load Capacity
Despite its small size, the H-811 hexapod positioning system supports payloads up to 5 kg (11 lb) and achieves velocities of up to 20 mm/sec (0.8 in/sec). A dedicated vacuum-compatible version is also available for applications in semiconductor manufacturing, space simulation, and scientific research applications. An ultra-high-accuracy H-811 variant is also available.
Hexapod Positioning Systems for Larger Loads
PI offers a broad portfolio of hexapod positioning systems for applications requiring higher load capacities, larger workspaces, or increased dynamic performance. These include the compact H-815 with absolute encoders and integrated brakes, as well as the high-load H-855, capable of handling payloads up to 1,100 lb.
Additional vacuum-compatible and high-dynamics hexapod systems are available for motion simulation, precision alignment, testing, and advanced industrial positioning applications.
